Three years ago to the day, BLACK MOUNTAIN TRANSMITTER released his debut masterpiece Black Goat of the Woods, an album which solidified his place among the great composers of analog horror soundtracks. Today we celebrate his newest audio offering titled Playing with Dead Things, comprised of two 17 minute tracks of his trademark analog compositions of blackened synthesizers, deathly atmospheres and ritualistic eeriness. To match the necromantic leanings of the album, each cassette is housed inside a hand-cut, sanded and routed-out piece of solid wood, a "coffinblock" to hold the miasma of magnetic rumblings that are constantly brewing forth uneasiness. Two editions have been created to match the social standings of the dead: a simple, utilitarian brown for the "plebeian" class and a magnificent sparkling red vellum for the "patrician" edition.
Coffinblock made from solid piece of wood, routed out, stained with "special walnut" and spray lacquered in clear coat. Coffin art stamped onto face and Auris ram stamped inside. Die-cut wrap & insert laserjet printed onto brown & metallic lava red vellum, with insert having rounded corners. Black sonic-weld tape shell with artist name stamped in black ink, wrapped in black paper with die-cut coffin embellishment. Wrap sealed with black wax, entire package contained in heat-sealed plastic sleeve.
